Some club members have volunteered to try to get the mowing for the weekend completed on Friday to allow full flying days on Saturday and Sunday. This will of course depend on the cooperation of the weather.

So are we on for tomorrow? The weather seems to be holding up.
Haggles, I'll bring the GoPro if you bring the quad. I've had an idea and I was hoping to get a few shots of the field.

Even though we managed to get some mowing done, the field arround the strip is still well covered with water. So nothing again today.

According to the RFS web site there are no restrictions for Sunday, so it should be OK to fly. Be aware that this could change at any time, however as I type this some drizzle seems likely which should settle things down further.

The RFS are showing a low to moderate fire risk with no bans for tomorrow in this area. The weather looks a bit unpredictable for flying, with a high chance of showers. The wind may also get a bit gusty.
The Frosts will not be attending tomorrow, but, unless the weather is obviously rubbish, I will go to the field about 10.00 to see if anyone is interested. If nobody turns up by 10.30 I will leave.
Because the clubhouse will not be attended I suggest you bring your refreshments with you.

Due to the forecast high temperatures and fire risk, it has been decided that the Bong Bong Common will not be opened on Saturday. No field maintenance will be attempted due to the fire risk from mowers. No flying will be catered for for the same reason, and also to keep vehicles away from the site.
Sunday is forecast to be much cooler. We will make a decision about flying on that day when more current information is available.
